As many of you have noticed, our page has been a little quiet for a few weeks. We are just finally recovering from the busy holiday season. Between all of the holiday baking, holiday family time and events, the daily grind, and all 4 of us having birthdays in the months of November & December, the last two months have been a whirlwind!
in 2023, we....
provided over 400 ethically raised chickens to local dinner tables
provided 40 families with farm fresh turkeys for their Thanksgiving dinners
baked around 200 fresh pies
-- 60 during thanksgiving weekend + 60 during Christmas weekend
baked around 50 loaves of fresh bread
stocked our basement with 2 dozen squash for winter
canned over 100 pints of garden salsa
canned over 150 half pints of jams
canned over 15 quarts of chili
canned over 30 pints of tomato sauce
canned over 20 pints of diced tomatoes
canned over 24 half pints of bruschetta
canned over 15 pints of pickles
canned over 12 half pints of relish
froze over 80 spaghetti meat sauce servings
froze over 30 servings of fresh tomato and basil soup
froze over 40 servings of beef bone broth soup
froze 4 quarts of chicken noodle soup
blanched and froze over 35 quarts of sweet corn
blanched and froze over 15 quarts of green beans
blanched and froze 4 quarts of brussels sprouts
collected over 1,000 dozen fresh eggs
To say the least, 2023 was wild and we are so thankful for everyone that has supported us this last year! Stay tuned as I hope to get a little more active on here sharing experiences and recipes over the next couple months.
